• This event provides professional instruction in the fundamentals of long-range shooting as it pertains to Law Enforcement, Military, precision rifle shooting, and long-range hunting.  Some experience with firearms and shooting is a pre-requisite for this training.

• Each participant must bring the following gear:

  • Rifle capable of shooting out to 800 yards and having decent accuracy (1 MOA or less preferred)

  • 150 to 200 rounds of decent quality ammunition (match grade preferred)

  • Bipod on the rifle

  • Rear shooting support (such as, sand sock or bean bag)

  • Scope, capable of dialing in elevation adjustments (capable of resetting the knobs to zero preferred; tactical reticle preferred)

  • Shooting mat

  • 150 – 200 rounds of decent quality ammunition (match grade preferred)

  • Eye and ear protection

  • Note-taking material

  • Good to have, but not required:  Ballistic app in phone (such as Applied Ballistics app or Strelok free beginner app)

• You will be shooting outdoors, so you must also bring appropriate gear (sunscreen, rain gear, etc.) for the weather conditions.

• The registration fee is $300.00 and includes meals and non-alcoholic beverages. Rustic camping spots are available at no extra cost, and anyone choosing to camp out must bring their own camping gear. Participants are encouraged to bring snacks and beverages of choice.

 

The event will begin with a safety briefing and 100-yard sight in of rifles. Instruction and shooting will continue for the next day and a half. ​

 

• The lead instructor for this event is Tommy Goodson, a former U.S. Marine Corps Scout Sniper and Sniper Instructor.  Tommy currently is a Special Response Team instructor for the Advanced Training Academy at the Savannah River National Laboratory in Aiken SC.  ​

 

• Class size is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
